A&F, Are You Talkin’ to Me? That’s Right You’re Not Talkin’ to Me!

The interwebs are tingling with talk about what Abercrombie & Fitch CEO has to say about his ideal clientele this morning.  He’s dug his own grave with this one and I won’t mind throwing the first (or fiftieth) handful of dirt on him.

I’m no shopper, friends. I like to look nice in my clothes but I’m not shopping for the latest trends every weekend–or even every season for that matter. I can’t remember the last time I set foot in Abercrombie. In fact, the last time I even thought about Abercrombie was when I had that LFO Song stuck in my head–1999 probably? So yeah, couldn’t care less about the place–and it’s apparent they were never marketing to this proud-bookish-nerd-girl anyway. I wish I could say they are losing a customer, but they didn’t have one to begin with in me.

That being said, they won’t be gaining any new customers from me, and I’ve got four little clothes horses coming up–clothes ponies, if you will.  So nah-nee-nah-nee-poo-poo! Stick your head in doo doo, A&F. Stick your head in doo doo.

On a happier note, I wasn’t going to write about Abercrombie today. I WAS going to wish one of my very best girlfriends a happy birthday!

If it’s been more than six months since you spent time with some of your best girl friends, then you are way overdue! Make it happen. We finally did last night. We filled our bellies and our souls with good food and laughter.

Mom Friends
I need these moms in my life!
Last night, one of my gorgeous, smart friends was telling us a story about her smart, kind, 9-year-old daughter. At that age they are starting to learn the social ropes. What it means to be “in” and how being a follower looks ugly at times. How being “cool” sometimes means making others feel “less than.” The story ended with her daughter stating emphatically, “I don’t ever want to be a cool kid!” High five, mom! High five, Girly!

Be a beautiful person on the inside–it will shine through you and you will attract beautiful people to you. Mike Jeffries can keep the cool kids–I’ll take the beautiful ones of every shape, shade, and size any day!

I just read through the article with the CEO and oh my he is definitely a bit of a narcissistic a-hole and do agree with you on this one. And Happy Birthday to your friend, too!! :)

Awesome message!!! We had to make a hard decision as a family this week about not fitting in…………..Sometimes a person needs new beginnings and the future will take care of itself. Here’s to new beginnings and being ok with who God made each one of us who they are supposed to be!!!

Mike Jeffries is an example of everything that is wrong with today’s society. I agree, I don’t want to be a cool kid, ever ever ever.

Wishing your friend a Happy Birthday and giving you a virtual high five on your A & F message. Seriously, the man looks like a cross between Gary Busey and the lead in the movie, The Mask. And HE is concerned with the clientele that enters his store?? Appalling.

The day I listen to a blow up doll on what is cool and what isn’t is the day I stop being a human being. I hope this d-bag gets run out of his own business now. I truly hope that the skinny beautiful people are as disgusted of him as the rest of us “uncool” people are.

Okay, this guy’s picture makes me laugh. He’s 68 years old and clearly has had some work done, and no offense, but is he dating a 25 year old? Um, no. My husband won’t go in that store anyway. Says it smells funny, lol.

I say AMEN to this post! I was going to write something, too, but so many other ladies have said what I wanted to so much better than I would have 😉 GREAT post, Christine!
