More Than Mommies Do Bloggy Boot Camp

Christine and I attended Bloggy Boot Camp – hosted by the SITS Girls - in Charlotte, North Carolina this weekend.  We went with our buddy, Stephanie, from When Crazy Meets Exhaustion and her buddy, Amanda, from Questionable Choices In Parenting (who we kinda think is pretty awesome, too!) We had been talking about doing a conference as a MAJOR goal of ours someday and were thrilled that Bloggy Boot Camp was soon going to be a reality for us!

Our weekend started with us headed to Pittsburgh International Airport (one of 4 we would visit over the weekend).  The sun was shining, there were no children asking for apple juice or after school snacks and we made it to the shuttle ON TIME, too.  All was right with the world:

Bloggy Boot Camp Charlotte

It was a lot of traveling . . . first we went to Atlanta, Georgia then headed to where Bloggy Boot Camp was being held . . . Charlotte, North Carolina.

I would like to just take a moment to give MAD PROPS (does anyone still say that or is that one of those phrases that will someday make my kids roll their eyes at me?) to the Doubletree Hotel in Charlotte.  AWESOME!!  Not only did our room totally rock at a really reasonable rate but the whole place was just beautiful and so impressive.  Plus, when you check in they give everyone a free (and mighty tasty)  warm cookie from a secret “warming drawer” behind the counter.  Love at first bite!

The beds . . . I forgot to mention the beds and linens!  Super comfy and cozy – and we shared a bed without it feeling “awkward” at all it meant that I missed out on my chance to play “footsies” under the covers with Christine because the beds were big enough that we didn’t have to sleep smooshed up against each other!

We woke up the next morning refreshed and ready to go – but not because we went to bed early enough . . . only because the beds were so comfortable!

Bloggy Boot Camp

I have to say that the experience I had a Bloggy Boot Camp was truly wonderful.

However, the actual “Boot Camp” part of it wasn’t anything like I thought it would be.  I expected to meet these Uber Successful, Larger than Life, Overwhelmingly Amazing presenters that were going to blow me away with stories about how successful they were and how hard they worked to get there.

I didn’t meet those women.

Instead, I met Real, Genuine, Inspirational, Honest women who were trying to help us!

Christine and I left Bloggy Boot Camp with a clearer idea of where we want to go – our End Game – and how we are going to get there.  We discovered a little bit about how other bloggers view us and where we fit in with the blogging community.  Oh . . . and we met some AMAZING BLOGGERS and  great sponsors, too!  (BTW – Christine, lucky ducky, won a Keurig!!!)

Brew over ice Keurig

Keurig – Brew Over Ice was there . . . I tried 3 of the flavors AND we were the first group to try the Snapple (made in the Keurig) products!

Collective Bias Awkward Stretch

Collective Bias asked us to do an Awkward Stretch with this pillow and tweet it – we did.

Mirassou sponsored a cocktail party after Boot Camp – BTW, try the Moscato!!

Christine and I talked so much “blog” over the weekend that our heads are spinning but in a good way!  We are motivated and excited . . . anxious and curious to see where this journey is going to lead us next!

We are also thrilled that you are along for the ride and advise you to “hold on” because we are READY to TAKE OFF!
