It’s time for The Sunday Sip!
We can’t wait to introduce our feature blogger for the week, so let’s get right to it!
Good Morning, Dara! What’s in your cup?
COFFEE with a couple packets of stevia and a splash of Silk creamer.
Some of our readers are just meeting you, how would you introduce yourself to us?
Dara Shultz, ecstatic wife, happy mom, freestyle dancer, coffee-enjoyer, makeup wearer, sometime-singer, and creator of LivingMySomeday.com
Tell us a little about your blog name. Why did you settle on “Living My Someday” for your blog’s title:
I did go through a few different names, one of which was “Weeping Willow,” simply because it was my favorite tree. Folks thought I was sad, though, so I knew I wanted to change it to something more positive. “Living My Someday” just came to me one day. It’s a reminder to live in the moment, something that’s hard for me to do! It also brings to mind the fact that my life has unfolded in a way that’s far surpassed my dreams. My husband came along at a time when my love life was nonexistent–I wasn’t sure I’d ever get married, have kids, or any of that. He proposed after about two months of dating me and flipped my world upside down!
“Living My Someday” has a fairy tale quality to it that I love. But it’s more like a fairy tale come to life. Not about hoping for something just beyond your grasp but embracing what is right in front of you and enjoying the ride. It’s perfect!
When we come by your blog, tell us what post should be our first stop?
Piggybacking off that last question, How It All Began is probably my favorite post because it talks about how my husband and I got together. The story is crazy, but true! When it comes to love, anything can happen.
I just read the post and your story is amazing! I just wonder what/how your mom seemed to “know” to get you two close to each other…
Can you tell us a little bit about why you decided to start blogging?
I’ve always had a journal, so initially, blogging was an extension of that. It still is, to some degree, but now I really want to create a community here. I love how the women behind Simple Mom, A Beautiful Mess, and The Tiny Twig have been able to do just that.
Besides your blog, tell us what you love to do. I’m sure Mothering is a big part of it, but what makes you “More Than Mommy”?
I LOVE to read! Once I learned to do it, I couldn’t stop! I’m not afraid to admit that I adore TV shows such as Mad Men, True Blood, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Scandal and a ton of others. Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Go have changed my life! I also enjoy hot yoga, although I’ve been slacking lately. My husband and I love to travel; we share the dream of seeing the world with the kids when they’re older. For now, though, we’re content to be homebodies. Life is good.
Thanks so much for sharing your home on the net with us. You are beautiful, Dara (I mean look at your photogenic self in those pics!) and I can’t wait for our readers to get to know you and your blog a little better.
